Tagging: All info must be on the front of the index card. Please do not place bar code labels on the backs of your cards.
All items are required to have a tag that includes your bar code, price, size and description.
A 3x5 index card cut in 1/2 works great! If you have tags/bar codes from previous sales, you may use them until you run out.
Place the letter “D” on all items that you wish to donate.
Try to use only number sizes on your tags (do not use S,M,L). Having a number size makes it much easier to place in the racks. Hanging: You may use wire or plastic hangers. Please understand that we are unable to return hangers to each consignor. All items are sold on the hanger. Secure items with safety pins at top of wire hanger. Do not use straight pins. Use only one hanger for two piece outfits. Hang the shirt first, then turn the hanger over and pin the waist of the pants to the back of the shirt at the shoulder seams. Both pieces need to be in view without unpinning them. You will also use fewer hangers!
Rubber band sets together. Ex: pants and shirt on one hanger, sweater on another hanger- both hangers rubber banded together to make the set. Pricing: We suggest you ask yourself: "What would I pay for this?" Think about what you would be willing to pay for the item if you were and the one considering purchasing it. If you would pay a particular price, someone else probably would, too! If you wish for an item not to be reduced during our % off days please remember to highlight your number and the price.
If you have a 2-piece outfit, please put a tag on each piece.
Remember to place additional labels on items like baby equipment, riding toys, etc.
Place bar code labels (with price) on the inside bottom of each shoe.
Do not pin second pieces (pants or skirts) under a jacket or shirt where they cannot be seen.
Pin your pricing tag to each item as shown. (upper right hand side of the garment) so it may be viewed quickly while shopping.
Hang all items from the top of the hanger and NOT along the bottom “bar.” Pin pants with two safety pins at the waist. The pants can be seen fully, front and back by simply flipping the hanger over and the pants will not fall on the floor.
Here is an example of the proper way to hang items
Hang everything so that the hanger will look like a question mark (?) when looking at the front of the garment.
If you need hangers, try your local dry cleaner. They are usually inexpensive, or in some cases, free!
Consider original retail price -- whether you paid original or not -- and take around 75 % off. This gives you a thinking range. For example, if an item’s originally cost was $20, take 75% off and think of pricing the item in the general area of $4.50 to $5. If it is an item that is highly desirable like Abercrombie, Polo, Gymboree, Limited Too, etc., you can price a little higher. The same is true for items New with Tags.
Keep in mind you are competing with many items of similar quality, and the best price will sell first. After determining what you think is a fair price, ask yourself, "Would I pay $?? for this item?" or "Would I pay more than this?" If you would pay more, add a dollar or maybe two to the price.
The people who make the most money have higher quality items priced in the ranges of $5.00 - $15.00. A few high quality items will really add up quickly! Keep in mind that your goal is to sell your items, otherwise, you will be taking it home with you at the end of this sale, so be careful to not over price.
